Winter Palace Sculpture Contest

The Wilton Economic Development Commission in partnership with Wilton Library Association invites Wilton kids of school grades K-12 to submit Winter Palace sculptures to be put on display in the Children's Library section of the Wilton Library from 11/30 through 12/10. During this time, guests and visitors of the library can vote for their favorite sculptures, and winners will be awarded prizes donated by local Wilton businesses.

Rules of the contest are as follows:

  • Only one entry per person.

  • Registration will open 11/16 and close 11/27.

  • Targeted at kids residing in Wilton, CT of school grades Kindergarten through 12th grade

  • Sculptures should carry the theme of "Winter Palace".

  • Materials spending limit of $20.

  • All other materials MUST be recycled (yogurt cups, egg cartons, etc) or sustainable materials.

  • Sculptures must be secured to a cardboard platform of no larger than 18 in x 18 in. Height of the sculpture cannot exceed 24 inches.

  • Upon registration, we will send you an email with your entry number so that you can label your sculpture. Sculptures should be dropped off at the library on 11/28 or 11/29 by noon. All sculptures must be clearly labeled. 

Voting will close on Friday, 12/9 at 10AM. Prizes will be announced on 12/10 at 4:15PM at the Library

Prizes:

  • (4) First Prize - “Movie Night Out” package ($25 gift certificate to Bowtie Cinema, and $25 gift certificate to Wilton Pizza) donated by Wilton Pizza, Comprehensive Nutrition, and members of the Wilton EDC in each of the following four grade categories: K-2; 3-5, 6-8, 9-12.

  • Additional prizes will be offered in value order and include the following:

    • (2) $25 gift cards from Wilton Hardware

    • (1) Lunch Cooler from Open House

    • (1) $15 gift certificate from The Painted Cookie

    • (3) $5 Gift Cards from Happy Hands Art and Pottery.
